Bento #19

I didn't really cook today.Only cooked the rice today and steamed the vegetables.There was leftover from yesterday's dinner which my mother cooked.
The blackish brownish thing is actually pan fried pork with potatoes and mushrooms.I love my mother's cooking,somehow,the same dishes that I cooked just doesn't taste as nice.
Thank God for blessing me with my wonderful mama who has taken such good care of our family all these years.Because of her,I get to eat home cooked ( 3 dishes 1 soup ) dinner everyday.
As a student,I seldom eat out with friends as I would miss my mama's cooking.

I hope I can be a wonderful mother and wife just like her.She's the most beautiful woman in my heart.

Bento #18

Fried garlic,onions and tomatoes with chicken. Something is missing and I think it's the..ginger!

It's the last day of school and holidays are here!But's definitely not a time to rest for me.There's already a to-do list waiting for me.In fact,I'll be even more occupied with my 2 boys!Nevertheless,I certainly look forward to spending more time with them.

Bento #17

Air fried salmon with some ginger and lemon juice. Spreaded quite a thick layer of minced garlic on top,haa.Had hoped for the garlic to be browned but by then the salmon would be too tough.Maybe next time I should just fry the garlic separately.However, the salmon skin got stuck to the pan and how my heart pained..the skin is the essence of all meats.Lesson learnt,oil the pan next time.

Ginger juice,minced garlic and a dash of salt is still my all time favorite marinade for salmon,it enhances the taste of the fish without being too overpowering.

Roasted some potatoes with mixed herbs and olive oil and last but not least, some edamame beans and cherry tomatoes.

Bento #16

There's still a lot of left over of the yakitori sauce from Bento #15.I kept it in the fridge and used the sauce to glaze the cod fish while grilling it in the oven today.So here's our simple lunch!

Bento #15

Modified a recipe of yakitori from
I cup of mirin
1/2 cup of soy sauce
3 tablespoon of sugar
2 cloves of garlic (minced)
1 boneless thigh

I cooked it over stove instead of grilling it. Boil the above mixture until only half of the sauce is left.
Pan fried the meat and pour away the water.Thereafter,pour the sauce on the meat until it's caramelized.
It's supposed to be flavorful but guess it's a tad too salty for me.Will play around with the ratio again I guess.

Strawberry lunchbox from Daiso.Small serving more for snack or breakfast.Anyway,it's a gift for a friend.祝福满满的便当。

Bento #14

Hubby's lunchbox is overflowing today.The sushi rice isn't visible at all.Covered by baked saba,mushrooms with lots of fried ginger and garlic(daily affair), veges,corns and cherry tomatoes.Wish I have a bigger lunchbox.
Mine was different.Brought tuna sandwiches today because the tuna has been lying in the fridge for some time......Taste good too!

Bento #13

Lunch today is my personal favorite.Fried noodles with egg and not to forget,my ginger and garlic..hee.Will be perfect with some fried shallots.Very simple meal to prepare but yet it tastes so good.Time taken from cutting,cooking and washing up takes around just half an hour!

Bento #12

Bought a new lunchbox and can't wait to use it!But I regretted after buying because I'm not sure if this is food grade stainless steel.Nevertheless,I love the bag!I can always replace the lunchbox and use the bag.The lunchbox is too small for hubby,will be just right for my boy though.
Made heart shaped (out of shape) tuna rice molds and pan fried it abit.Maybe I can try air frying them in future.Our daily dosage of ginger and garlic is found in the mushroom omelette.Ginger and garlic is really an invincible combination!

Bento #11

Am working to organize my food so that they look neater and more appetizing. Used a lettuce bedding to hold the chicken with ginger sauce today.Steamed the vegetables,mushrooms and carrots.

Used my air fryer to fry the ginger while I'm cutting the ingredients,nice job!
Love the tomato rice today using estimation of half a tomato and 3/4 cup of rice.Taste good!
