#Bento 92 - Teriyaki chicken and air fryer egg

My #1 asked me “妈咪,最近你没有给我带好料去学校了啊?”

So here goes......Teriyaki chicken for both father and son. Used oven instead of  the usual pan fried method because I need to get the lunchboxes done quick while juggling with my markings...whew.

#Bento 91 - Soy Sauce Honey Grilled Chicken

Prepared a fuss free lunchbox today. Drumstick marinated with soy sauce before being popped into the oven and brushed on with honey towards the last 5 min of grilling.

Mashed potatoe and stir fried vegetables as sides and I'm left with some time for a prayer and Bible reading before starting my busy day.

#Bento 90 - Soy Sauce Chicken Wings and baked eggs and tomatoes with cheese

Have been so busy that I have only managed to cook one bento in 2016! This is really sad! Soy Sauce chicken wings cooked the previous night, baked cherry tomatoes and eggs with cheese and stir fried veges.

Hope I can improve!

Lessons I learned from Taekwondo Part 6 - Planting our feet firmly on God's Word

6. Planting our feet firmly on God's Word

I have finally reached the last part of this Taekwondo series and this is the lesson which hits me the hardest.

I stopped attending Bible Classes because of tkd. I love the trainings, I love the tournaments, I enjoy the company of my team mates, I met a potential partner, my life revolves around tkd. I had so much fun that I have decided to put God aside. Even though I still attend Sunday Worships, my heart isn't there anymore, I can't wait for the service to end and I could go for my tuition to earn more money. My life is happy and carefree, everything is going smoothly. I still believe that God and Heaven exists, I am also certain that Judgement Day will come but all these can wait. For now, I will enjoy my life.

I have forgotten how much God has blessed me. A beautiful family filled with love, a healthy and reasonably fit body which allows me to be engaged in different kinds of sports. I have forgotten the time when I cried to Him every night, praying so hard for my mother to be healed, praying for her to regain her health so that we can have many more good years ahead with her. I have forgotten how I shed tears, sitting in my Sunday School Bible class, as I listened to my Sunday School teacher describe the process of Jesus being crucified on the cross. I have forgotten it is by the grace of God that I am what I am. I have veered off the path towards Eternal Life. Right then, I have fallen into the trap, loving all that is in the world - the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life.

1 John 2: 16 For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world.

So it could be anything that pulls you away from God. It could be a promotion in your job that caused you to spend more time in work than with God because you want to be successful in your career. It could be a potential partner in life whom you refuse to give up even though he has no intention to get to know your God better. It could be your endless pursue in your studies where you got too caught up with paper chasing. It could be your newborn who made you so tired that you decide to take a break from Church because Sunday is a good day for you to rest at home.It could be your children having examinations and you stayed home with them to ensure that everything goes well with their revision.

Perhaps we've spent countless nights praying to God for the things that we want in life. But when we received what we have asked for, did it make us more determined to serve God or did it pull us away from God instead?  Or if we did not get what we prayed for, do we blame God, do we leave God, and not trust that only He, our one and only Creator knows what is best for us? Do we have the patience to wait for God to show us the answer?

Mat 6:33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

I know that God has surely forgiven me but I can't help but feel remorseful when I think back. I'm just like the prodigal son running away with the money to have fun while my loving Father in Heaven is waiting for my return every day.Well, I thank God that I woke up in time to be back in His family.

When I look at my boys now, I shuddered at the thought that they might go through the same experience as me.It's scary to think that they are going with me to Church every week and doing all the things that they should do but in fact I've already Iost their souls. The only way to protect them is to plant their feet firmly on God's Word now so when the day arrives, they have the full armor with them, well protected. The preparation for the battle starts now, right now.

Eph 6:11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age,[a]against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

Conclusion

Tkd is a really great sport for children. It not only strengthens them physically and mentally, but also trains them to be disciplined and helps them to learn about the power of perseverance.

The arena is an even more exciting place to be in. The small little area seems to be a condensed version of how life works. Important decisions have to be made in split seconds with nobody to help you.

All work and no play makes Jill a dull child. It saddens me to see children being made to give up the CCAs they love just so that they can excel academically. I do have a preference for sports for my boys because they have endless energy to exhaust. But at the end of the day, their source of self confidence and self esteem should always come from God and nowhere else.
